I really don't see the huge need at WR. If we can get Ronnie Williams to step up and produce, we would have a great group of WR.
Eric Morman, a junior, tied a school record for catches last year. Brandon Bunn, a senior, catches TD passes, plain and simple. Brian Terwilliger, a senior, is one of the fastest men in Division II.
Gerron Bryant is a circus-catcher also, and a good 6'2.
I think the need is more pressing upfront and at QB and RB. (Wow, that is practically all positions.)

I saw Jamelle yesterday. He said they want a lineman from one of the Iredell high schools but so do a lot of other colleges. He said coachs had been in Charlotte talking to playas at Butler, Indy and West Charlotte b4 Christmas. He said they have made some of them offers but he didn't know the names. He is tight with a couple of the coachs but he says they don't tell names very much until Feb.

I wonder if Catawba had any coaches up at Hofstra and Northeastern at all? Both school have dropped their football programs so there are plenty of talented football players looking for a place to play. In my opinion Catawba has placed alittle too much stock in speed and not enough stock in size. Speed kills but if you can hold the lines speed gets ran over. Hope size is on the menu for this recruiting season. Lets throw in some transfer players who can help right away as well.

I'm hearing we may extend the series with Fayetteville State. It wouldn't be a surprise. FSU's coach was an assistant at Catawba in the '80's. Complaints about scheduling CIAA schools should be offset if we renew with the Broncos, as they were CIAA champs, and we beat them by a single point in a game we probably should have lost.

I heard a rumor that Mooring, the Shrine Bowl QB from New Bern, who was redshirted this past season is about to flunk out and may not return after Christmas.

What about that Davidson kid from Gaffney, playing WR ? I forget his #, at one of the home games,a group of us were talking about different positions and someone said that Davidson was a hell of a spread QB from Gaffney, South Carolina reminded them of Pat White or Armanti Edwards. they said they seen him play against somebody down there and he put 40 points on some good team in a half. also there was another kid named juco or something, from North Carolina ,that was a darn good corner in high school with good speed.

I would like to see some kind of upgrade to the pregame. Perhaps the band will be able to get involved. The crowd is pretty dead before the team comes out (That was the first thing I noticed before the first home game). And the team's entrance doesn't help. The pregame music could use an adjustment.

"I'd like to think the offensive playbook will change in 2010, and maybe a new QB would help change to a new philosophy?"
A mobile QB is always good. Some kind of a spread option offense would be great. But change will probably be incremenental as the next recruits will probably have a limited impact. Catawba has the personnel and talent to run some kind of a spread now.
