Didnt go to the game but saw the final.
Saw where we gave up 400 yards rushing.
1st losing season in 15 years finishing dead last in conference.
What the heck happened to this years team? Did they quit?
We couldnt run the ball or stop the run.
Where do we go from here?
Does Hester shake up the staff? Make changes internal?
Dissapointingand embarrasing season ends today and 2010 starts now.

In two seasons, we've sunk from a 10-1 championship season to cellar-dwellers. Un-freakin'-believable. We should rename Shuford "The Basement". L-R is the most pitiful opponent I've seen us play this year, except for Livingstone, and we looked atrocious against them. No blocking, no running, and Dennis constantly throwing into a crowd. It's just unreal how inept this team looked. The bad old '80s' and '90's are back.
And, if the rumors I hear are true about the administration cutting the budget so much that it hampers recruiting by disallowing visits and long-distance phone calls, then get used to the pathetic product you saw on the field this year, because there'll be much more where that came from.

If thats true then the admin is more interested in a paycheck for themselves than a winning product on the field.
I have a feeling we havent seen the worst yet. I feel bad for Hester if that is the case. He has his hands tied.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if all the budget stuff is true. I know the men's bball team has the lowest budget of all the SAC teams.
I hate it for Coach Hester. It seems like a lose/lose proposition for the program now, if it's true that they aren't getting enough funds.
You would think with all the money coming in to the school that they could figure out a way to effectively run a successful, well funded football program (and all athletics for that matter).
What I would give to find out what's really going on.

I wonder if the Readling guys can/will do a bit of investigative reporting on the athletic budget rumors. I hope they can dispel them.

Listened to the radio. I think they had the commissioner (or whatever the head guy is called) of the conference. He said a couple of things that were interesting.
1) They are studying ways to get Brevard to play in a different facility. He basically acknowledged that the conditions when Cat went to Brevard were unacceptable.
2) North greenville is not welcome in the conference but he would not say why.
So I'm wondering what the problem is with North greenville.

Three issues with NGU that I've heard about: 1. Academics, specfically some courses in the school curriculum that counted toward academic standing. 2. An initial refusal to play games on Sunday; an issue with some conference tournaments. 3. An on-going attitude issue with the school's president that has offended his SAC counterparts and caused them to vote down NGU's application.
It's a shame; I would like to have seen NGU in the SAC.
